I’m currently a clinic nurse in a large private practice. I will have to start carrying health insurance for my family in 2018. The 2017 insurance premium (through my current employer) for family coverage is $1200/month and just found out it’s increasing in 2018. I’m not going to be able to afford these premiums and have finally accepted the fact that I need to find another employer because of this. I’d prefer to stay in clinic due to hours but would consider a hospital setting if it comes down to that. My question is, are health insurance premiums high in most clinic settings? I’m not sure which direction I should go. Should I consider an HCA clinic, a hospital setting, etc.? Any feedback would be appreciated before I start my job search.
